About The School

The co-directors of our school - Suzanne Dunleavy McDonough, Michael Boyle and Patrick Connolly - were all introduced to Irish dance at a very young age by their Irish grandparents, and grew up immersed in Irish culture. Each teacher has had over 15 years of teaching experience. For Suzanne, Michael and Pat, the unique tradition of Irish dance is a very positive, challenging and family oriented activity. Thus, their focus as teachers is to pass this wonderful gift on to new generations of dancers.

Dunleavy Boyle Connolly Academy offers opportunities to compete and perform for all students, even during their first year. Some students become very interested in competing, and we have many solo and team dancers who have succeeded at an elite level. Others rarely compete, but love the art form and its cultural value, or simply delight in the sheer joy of dance. Classes are focused on building students' skills and confidence. We strive to create a healthy, happy environment for dancers of all levels.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to teach Irish dance to children of all ages in a positive environment. We aim to develop strong dancers, teach teamwork and foster friendships among our students. We teach Irish dance as a tradition, a sport and an art form, and encourage our dancers to pursue these aspects through classes, performances or competitions. Most importantly, our goal is that students will gain confidence, be inspired and have fun!
